Region
Monferrato is our land.
Our vineyards are located in Castagnole delle Lanze, in the province of Asti. This area is in the heart of the Langhe and Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and inspired the stories of famed author Cesare Pavese.
Region
Here the land has a unique ‘fragrance’ – a character all its own left by the sea millions of years ago as it retreated. This is married to a mild climate: in spring the area benefits from the “Foehn” winds from the Alps and in the summer the “Marin” from the Ligurian coast, 70km away.
This happy marriage of soil and climate gives unique aromas, flavors and freshness to our wines.

2021 Harvest

It was the year of anomalous events: an early
sprouting of the vine, a terrible one freezing
in late April and an equatorial summer, hot and
very dry.
Our vines have been put to the test but there
they gave full and fragrant bunches, albeit in
much smaller amount.
As a demonstration of the winemaking vocation of the
our hills, the 2017 vintage promises long-lived wines,
with an important structure, balanced by one
surprising freshness and superfine aromas.
2020 Harvest

2020 will remain impressed on everyone’s mind
as the worst ever, but there is a positive side to it.
In the wine world, 2020 was a spectacular vintage:
fair rains in spring, sun warm in summer and autumn.
The bunches of moscato are perfect states, compact,
juicy and sweet. Also for Barbera was a vintage to
remember: they are ahead structured and very
long-lived wines. Surely 2020 will be a vintage
to remember, at least for the wine!
2019 Harvest

The term that best describes this vintage
particular is BALANCE: balance in the vineyard
because the alternation of heat and cold in spring
and the summer season with rain and sunshine
they made the bunch get to the point
ripening in perfect conditions; and balance
in the wine between power and grace, an alchemy
natural that gives great satisfaction.
The wines of the 2019 vintage are very pleasant
on the nose: we find a kaleidoscope of perfumes
very special; and in the mouth a further balance
between power and delicacy.
2018 Harvest

Despite a complex climate, with a summer
very rainy and scorching heat peaks between July
and August, the 2018 harvest ended with a
relationship between the exceptional quantity of grapes and the
their quality among the best of recent years.
With a careful work of peeling in the summer and of
elimination of excess bunches just before
harvest, we were able to bring healthy grapes to the cellar
and with an excellent level of maturity.
The wines of the 2018 vintage present a rich background
from an aromatic point of view and great elegance, with a
good acidity and alcohol content which, over time,
they will leave room for balance and finesse.

2016 Harvest

After an exciting vintage like 2015,
nature has surprised us again, giving us
in the 2016 vintage grapes bordering on perfection.
Spring was characterized by a cold
late and from precipitation of appreciable entities,
which slowed down the vegetative process of the plant.
After a month of June in which the
flowering phase, we have witnessed a summer
hot and dry that lasted until September,
and to a dry autumn climate with a noticeable
temperature difference between day and night, permitting
the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
All these factors have created wines that are generous and
graceful, surely worthy of being remembered
in the years.
2015 Harvest

We are in the presence of one of the most exciting vintages
of the new millennium comparable, for completeness and
regularity of results, 2001 and 2010. The vintage
was characterized by a rainy spring, which
at times it didn’t bode well, but
which then guaranteed the precious water supplies needed
for the life of the vine.
The summer was in fact among the hottest of the last few years
years and has helped to give us a harvest
superlative, where the consistency of matter and
the elegance of its components, are conjugated in
a perfect synthesis. The harmony of such an orchestra
articulated and complex will require more time to succeed
to best express all its potential; Therefore
wines already exciting at first reading, but which will be needed
wait with a little patience to get to
understand all their extraordinary nature.
2014 Harvest

The 2014 harvest will be, without a shadow of contradiction,
ascribed in wine texts as a difficult vintage,
of those in which the hand of man, with his experience
and his dedication can really make a difference.
Rain and humidity were almost daily companions
and summer was almost completely absent.
With these conditions the farmer’s work was
more fundamental than ever. Through browsing,
mowing (we do not use herbicides but only control
mechanical/manual turf) and the elimination of
Excess or unhealthy bunches, carried out progressively
without creating stress on the plants, we were able to bring
healthy and ripe bunches in the cellar. Moscato, Barbera and
Grignolino have therefore reached a balance which,
although not memorable, it was not foreseeable in progress.
